At Newlands Primary Academy, we teach Science through the Snap Science curriculum, which places curiosity, investigation and scientific enquiry at the heart of learning. We aim to develop children's understanding of the world around them while fostering a lifelong love of science and discovery. 

Our curriculum provides a carefully sequenced progression of knowledge across biology, chemistry and physics, ensuring that children build on prior learning and develop a secure understanding of key scientific concepts over time. Science is taught through engaging questions, investigations and real-life contexts that encourage children to think and work like scientists. 

Working scientifically is a central part of our approach. Children learn to ask questions, make predictions, observe closely, carry out investigations, gather and analyse evidence, and draw conclusions from their findings. Through practical, hands-on experiences, pupils develop critical thinking, problem-solving and enquiry skills that enable them to explore and understand the world around them. 

We believe that every child should see themselves as a scientist. Through a rich and engaging curriculum, we nurture curiosity, creativity and resilience, equipping children with the scientific knowledge and skills they need for future learning and life beyond the classroom.
