At Newlands Primary Academy, we teach Computing through the Teach Computing Curriculum, developed by the National Centre for Computing Education. This progressive curriculum enables children to develop their understanding of computer systems and networks, programming, data and information, and digital media through engaging, practical learning experiences. Pupils build computational thinking and problem-solving skills while learning how technology works and how it can be used creatively and effectively. Online safety and digital citizenship are woven throughout the curriculum, ensuring children become confident, responsible and resilient users of technology. Through a carefully sequenced programme of learning, we prepare our pupils to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
